The average adult body contains 42 litres of water and with just a small lose of 2.7 litres he or she can suffer from dehydration, displaying symptoms of irritability, fatigue, nervousness, dizziness, weakness, constipation, weight gain, fluid retention, dark urine, bladder and urinary track infection, headaches and consequently reach a state of pathology. Dry mouth is not the only indication of being dehydration, but in fact the last sign.
The beveages that most people choose to consume are often counter-productive in promoting hydration. Coffee, tea, alcohol, soft and sugary drinks are all diurectics and will cause not the loss of water they are dissolved in, but they will also draw water from the body reserves. Your body needs to replace the water the fluids it has lost throughout the day. Most fluids should be replaced with pure drinking water, the rest you should get from fruits and vegetables and their juices.
Their are also benefits of drinking water. Your intake can improve the way you feel and even the way you look. There are cosmetic benefits of drinking water they include softer, firmer skin and healthier looking hair, weight maintenance and appetite control. The health benefits of drinking water are some of the pain sensations we experience are due to dehydration. For example headaces have to do with fluid content to the brain. When the essential amount is absent the brains initial response is to produce histamines, which cause pain and fatigue. It's a natural defense mechanism, meant to conserve fluids and prevent acute dehydration or death (your body cries out). The production of histamine is meant to "slow you down", so you dont use up more liquids. Pain relievers will relieve the pain but the body will still be fatigued.
There are many benefits to drinking water, so remember to purify and drink for your health.
