BLOG: WHY DID I GO TO SEE "WHY DID I GET MARRIED TOO": HILARIOUS FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS

By Tera DuVernay

Words can’t describe how awful this movie was but I am going to give it a go anyway! When I say it was bad, I mean it was BAD! And not bad as in the fact that Janet Jackson’s jerry curl wig, light makeup, and acting was reminiscent of her brother’s “BAD” video, but just horrible from start to finish.

It was quite the challenge to focus on Jill’s character when all I could concentrate on was that fact that her wig made her look like a cross between a member of the old Puerto Rican boy band Menudo and one of the Beatles! Maybe Paul, maybe John, I’m not really sure but it was not sexy! I was literally doubled over in laughter every time she came on the screen because the hair was that shagalicious!

Now let’s get to the movie itself, because clearly people want to know why it’s been sold out in theaters all around the South. Many of my friends, co-workers and even strangers have raved about the film claiming its Tyler’s best work yet.

Without ruining it for those who have not seen this fiasco, I will just say that this movie was filled with over acting. It was way over the top with entirely too much going on and was completely unrealistic. It was just a bad script that got worse when they added bad actors, bad hair styles, bad scenes, and bad directing!

It was an awful portrayal of stereotypical black women. The ghetto chick, the dishonest wife, the cheater, and the enraged woman scorned were all inclusive. In one of the most ridiculous Janet Jackson scenes, there was a gay man with purple hair who jumped out of a cake in purple undies and Janet said something along the lines of, “Since you wanna act like a bitch, here’s your bitch.” I mean really Tyler? So now we’re not just adding horrible scenes, but horrible homophobic scenes? Hey, well I guess that was better than the simultaneous hugs in the ER waiting room, right?!

To make matters worse, as the credits began to roll at the end, I swore that I heard a really stunningly horrible song from Janet that actually referred to getting the password to a man’s cell phone! LOL, they should have had the credits roll to Black Rob cause that movie was WHOA!

Of course like any good commentary, I will end on a positive note…..this movie is HILARIOUS!!!!!!! It is soooooo bad that you can’t help but to laugh out loud at how awful it is! I would recommend this movie because it was truly the best laugh I’ve had all year.
