When it comes to weaves and wigs does the old adage "less is more" apply? Or should people go to the extreme?

I think less is more because it looks more natural.
I give my clients the choice to wear a wig before changing the color or cut... Sometime client want a change in there life so 1st thing they do is too color or cut there..wigs and weaves give them a choice

good idea on the wig's before a big change janet. do many of them go for it?
i've found the younger clients resistant to wigs.
i find it when i suggest twists before someone actually goes to locs.
they want what they want when they want it. lol.
Yes Tosha younger client's don't wigs because we all know a aunt, grandmother and friend with a BAD WIG LOL...wigs have change the last 10 years ..A younger client would like half cap wig she can wear her own hair in the front to make it more natural.

I think it depends on your client, their age, personality, and profession. If i'm styling a client who is an artist, entertainer or what we call in the salon ...."WEAVE GIRLS" I know i can take this client to more of an extreme than i would my more conservative client such as teacher, or attorney. Now that 1st. time weave client I like to keep her more natural, for lack of shock value. However when you become a weave client, they usually, eventually begin to crave their weave to be a little longer, or fuller over time. As long as you know that client can PULL OFF the look, it works. As for me personally, I LOVE weaves and wigs. I'm usually extreme, however i can be natural at times depending on my mood. I love the versitility, colors, lenghts, and textures. It's fun.... you can be a short red head on Monday , and on Saturday be long and wavy. I look at it as a great accessory as long as it is well cut, blended, and laid. Where I'm From (Philly) women love both, weaves and wigs, no matter what the age, for the most part
